In two weeks I will have 100 11 x 17 posters and 100 4 x 6 postcards available for sale of my Barbie Masks project – exploring the concepts of gender, sexuality, identity, and present beliefs about the future through the manipulation of a common cultural icon (the Barbie doll). The below image is of a “rough” version of the poster.
I made the dolls and my friend/collaborator Tiana M.B. took the photo!
If you are interested in purchasing one in advance of their sale in my online store (which will be up soonish, I swear!) please contact me via the contact tab.
A bunch of people in the DIY community, under the organization of Ryan from _Entrancer donated songs to a compilation benefiting those musicians affected by the Ghostship fire in Oakland! There’s an old, old live collaboration by Frozen Body, Zach Spener (AKA Vice Reversa) and me on it, hasn’t been available since 2006 or something and was only released in an edition of 15 handmade wooden boxes w/CD-R on StarShipStereo!

Sorry about the bare address but I couldn’t get embedding to work.
I put my short film on Youtube so some friends outside the U.S.A. could see it and now, I’m going to take it down till the Fall of 2017.
I made the film so I could tour around and show it which is what I’m going to try and do again this Winter and Spring.
First showing will be in the Los Angeles area in January or February.
If you’re interested in showing it in your area, send me a letter:
Wax Trax Records, ATTN: Tripp Nasty, 638 E 13th Ave, Denver, CO 80203
Not for the weak at heart: Flute Puns.
I’ve known Kyle Mabson and Jonathan Snipes for so long I can’t really remember how we first meet and became friends. Jonathan ran the crazy band Captain Ahab and now is in clipping. While I have no idea what Kyle exactly does, other than play in a lot of bands and make a lot of music (he released a great hip-hop album this year, check it out!) and travel around with famous rock bands. Either way, he and Jonathan had been threatening for years to release an all flute album.
Yesterday they finally did!
Also, many years ago my friend Lee Sanders and I dedicated a lot of time to getting drunk and making an unabridged audiobook of Moby Dick. A few years back I put some of the chapters online. I’m about to finish digitizing all of the chapters but I haven’t been able to find a place to put them up on the Internet. If you have any suggestions, shoot me a message. Its almost 30 hours of audio, way too big for bandcamp or soundcloud.
You can listen to the first couple of chapters here!
If you’re in Chicago, Illinois you can now pick up a copy of “Hitler High: Pandora’s Bong, Some Short Stories and a Haiku or Two” at Quimby’s Bookstore! Get a copy before they sellout!
It even made their Instagram account, you can see my face on the cover peaking out there to the bottom right! I’ve loved Quimby’s since I was a teen and used to go there with my grandfather the few times I visited Chicago. It’s pretty cool that something I did is now being sold there.
After a year of touring around the U.S. with it, my 12 minute film is now online! Sit down with some hot tea, a good joint and enjoy!
Note: As of 12/08/2016 STONER WITCHES will no longer be available online as I am taking it on a small tour during the Winter/Spring of 2017. It will be available again on Youtube in the Fall of 2017.
The good news is that CP-208 has reunited under a new name, “Quits”. The bad news, for me, is that I wasn’t invited to join them.
Instead, Luke Fairchild, the singer of such famous Denver bands as “Git Some” and “Maka 1972” has taken my place.
Go and see one of their shows, I’m sure they’ll be awesome!
I lost my Internet connection at home so I haven’t been able to post for awhile, my apologies.
Luckily for me and you, not much has happened to me lately.
Summer has been great. I soldout of all of my issues of the second volume of the Lipstick Diaries and my short story collection, “Hitler High: Pandora’s Bong, Some Haiku’s and a Short Story or Two” has now sold a little over 100 copies after two years of release.
I’m still playing keyboard with the Denver band Mr. Pacmen. At some of their upcoming shows I’ll be playing sweet heavy metal guitar. I’ve never done that before so wish me luck!
I’m working currently on volume 3.0 of the Lipstick Diaries which I’ll put out in October. I’m going to make it an all Halloween issue so I’m working on writing a long horror story (think John Bellairs!), part two of Nightmares and Desires and probably some drawings of monsters and other seasonal themes.
I’ve run into some money problems this summer so I’m delaying the shoot for my next short film, “Blue Sky” till early winter. This will probably be better since it’s a horror short and winter skies are always scarier than summer’s.
So, until next time….
Here’s a short trailer in anticipation of the April 9th showing at The Tannex in Albuquerque, New Mexico!
