I’m on a Podcast!

My good friend and fellow weirdo artist, Sara Century interviewed me a few weeks back about the future under a Donald Trump administration, music, film, art, and books. It came out today on the lovely Undressing Underground podcast. Take a listen!

Taking STONER WITCHES Off Youtube Till Fall 2017

I put my short film on Youtube so some friends outside the U.S.A. could see it and now, I’m going to take it down till the Fall of 2017.

I made the film so I could tour around and show it which is what I’m going to try and do again this Winter and Spring.

First showing will be in the Los Angeles area in January or February.

If you’re interested in showing it in your area, send me a letter:

Some (old) New Music

Put up one of my favorite demo’s I made a few years ago on some of my toy Casio keyboards (specifically, the SK-5, SK-1 and SA-5). There’s a few mistakes in the track, some volume issues (toy Casio keyboards have some volume issues when recording them off the headphone jack since it’s a “hot” signal) and it could be shorter but I’ve always thought it was an interesting track so I thought I’d share it.

Recorded in 2015 on my Tascam 424 mkiii (a cassette tape 4-Track).

I also put up a demo of a love song I wrote for my friends band, Hot White. I loved their band and the folks in it are just some of the best human beings I’ve had the pleasure to be friends with.

The song was made on my four track and it’s missing vocals since I needed one more track to record them but didn’t have it. Maybe I’ll rework it in the future now that I have an 8-track. Recorded in 2010 at Glob when I was going back to college to become a hottie accountant.

It even made their Instagram account, you can see my face on the cover peaking out there to the bottom right! I’ve loved Quimby’s since I was a teen and used to go there with my grandfather the few times I visited Chicago. It’s pretty cool that something I did is now being sold there.

Watch My Short Film STONER WITCHES Online Now!!!!

After a year of touring around the U.S. with it, my 12 minute film is now online! Sit down with some hot tea, a good joint and enjoy!

Note: As of 12/08/2016 STONER WITCHES will no longer be available online as I am taking it on a small tour during the Winter/Spring of 2017. It will be available again on Youtube in the Fall of 2017.

Some Adjustments, Some Plans, Some Stuff For Sale

The thing I’ve learned after years of trying to do long-term projects is that sometimes those projects change or need some adjustments to see them through to completion so:

Though I’ve enjoyed doing my zine on a regular three month basis I’m going to move the upcoming issue back until I feel the writing comes closer to what I want rather than try to keep to my deadline schedule.

The short film, “Blue Skies” that I’ve been trying to make will also have to be pushed back due to financial reasons beyond my control right now.

I’m going to start recording “Cutie Eyeballs” (the production group I work with) in the studio instead of DIY’ing it with my 8-track. My recordings of drums are good but not as good as a permanent studio could do and I’d really like the drums to stand out in the pop stuff we’re doing.  Expect some of our first recordings to show up on the Internet in the beginning of winter.

I’ve closed my record lathe business except for a few “friend” clients and I’ve ended the recording section of Alta Fidelidad Productions. I was never able to charge enough to make money on the lathe cuts and I could never get a band to give me music to put out on the label. Both were super fun things to do but in the end each began to take too much time from other projects.

I have always made art and been fascinated by mass produced art, like Ai Weiwei and Andy Warhol. This summer I began to experiment with creating mass produced art pieces and will be coming out with my first line this winter which will be available through the upcoming Tripp Nasty webstore (I know I’ve been promising to open up one for years but this time it’ll happen.). I’ll post more information about this project as I work through it.

Also, I have five copies left of the third printing of my collected fiction zine, “Hitler High: Pandora’s Bong (the trailer) and Some Short Stories and a Haiku or Two”. If you’d like a copy write me at tommypython at yahoo dot com. They’re $3.00 shipped to anywhere in the USA, for outside the USA please write me so I can figure out mailing costs.

Where Has The Time Gone?!?

I lost my Internet connection at home so I haven’t been able to post for awhile, my apologies.

Luckily for me and you, not much has happened to me lately.

Summer has been great. I soldout of all of my issues of the second volume of the Lipstick Diaries and my short story collection, “Hitler High: Pandora’s Bong, Some Haiku’s and a Short Story or Two” has now sold a little over 100 copies after two years of release.

I’m still playing keyboard with the Denver band Mr. Pacmen. At some of their upcoming shows I’ll be playing sweet heavy metal guitar. I’ve never done that before so wish me luck!

I’m working currently on volume 3.0 of the Lipstick Diaries which I’ll put out in October. I’m going to make it an all Halloween issue so I’m working on writing a long horror story (think John Bellairs!), part two of Nightmares and Desires and probably some drawings of monsters and other seasonal themes.

I’ve run into some money problems this summer so I’m delaying the shoot for my next short film, “Blue Sky” till early winter. This will probably be better since it’s a horror short and winter skies are always scarier than summer’s.

So, until next time….
